Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is celebrated throughout the world on February 14th. February has long been a month of romance. Make your loved ones happy on this day by cooking something yummy for sweetheart's tummy.

Valentine's day is celebrated differently by different people. Some send flowers to their loved ones, others gift them with chocolates and greeting cards, some express their love by cooking their loved one's favorite dishes. You do not always have to buy an expensive gift for your valentine. You can make a card by yourself or can a have a wonderful candle light dinner at home with some romantic music in the background, dance with your sweetheart. However you decide to celebrate it, doing something special for your some one special brings such a wonderful smile on their face. Trust me its worth the effort.

There are several stories about St. Valentine and why February 14th is called as the Valentine's day. According to one of the stories, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. It is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. An alternative story states that St.Valentine's Day originates from the story of Saint Valentine, who upon rejection by his mistress was so heartbroken that he took a knife to his chest and sent her his still-beating heart as a token of his undying love for her. Hence, heart-shaped cards are now sent as a tribute to his overwhelming passion and suffering.

Although the truth behind the Valentine's Day is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. And February is always remembered as a month of romance.

As the saying goes, 'entry to a man's heart is through his stomach'. Who would not like it if you make a lovely dinner. I feel entry to a woman's heart is also through her stomach.
